What a crazy and bizarre week we had this week.  We did however to manage to do a very cool social studies project with our reading story Me on the Map. We are looking forward to next week when we get our eggs so we can hatch our first batch of chicks.  Hopefully our classroom "issue" will resolve and our class will be back to normal next week.  Thank you parents for your support and patience with our classroom issue!

Today we started learning about poetry.  We started with something very easy that I knew the kids would love!  We did Acrostic poetry using our names.  We picked words that described ourselves.  They loved it! They also learned that they could do it with any word they want to work with!  Let the poetry fun begin!!!

Today was a very busy day!  The two practicum students from Rowan were with us for their first of eight Tuesdays to observe and work with us in our classroom.  The kids were great and I know that the two Rowan students will fit in wonderful!  Welcome to our classroom!  We hope you both learn a lot from your experience!  Tomorrow we get our Tues, Wed, and Thursday aide, Miss Souders!

Welcome to First Grade!

I finally did it!  I made a blog! I have a lot of things still to learn and work on, but its a start to keep you connected to our first grade classroom.  Sometimes as parents we feel disconnected from our child while they are at school.  Its a great start to be connected!  I will try my best to update this weekly with pictures, videos and comments!
