This is our first try at a video!  Not all the words are read correctly, but they were so proud!

This week we had a very busy week!  One of the highlights my students will talk about is we FINALLY named the Bearded Dragon.  On the SmartBoard I listed all the kids names that they wanted varying from Cinderella, Beauty (because he is so beautiful) to Spike, and Pointy.  I put all the suggested names in a hat and pulled one.  We now have Rex the bearded dragon!!!!  Thats a name I can live with! 

Besides naming Rex we had a full week of intense curriculum.  The students had their first ever reading story, and list of spelling words.  We had fun working through the new Reading Street curriculum together singing songs, highlighting our phonics sounds, and reading stories on the smartboard.  It ended today with their first ever Spellinig and Reading Test.  The students did great, only a few tears.

We also finished our first math unit today!
The kids have been working very hard.

Throughout the week we have also had a fire drill and an evacuation drill.  Our class did great being quiet and walking to the appropriate places.  I have to say we were one of the best classes during the drill! 

We have had alot of compliments lately walking in the hallways and from special area teachers on how well behaved our class is!  GO ROOM #3 WE ROCK!

Next week on Monday will be an exciting day.  We are getting two new first grade students in our classroom.  I had the chance to meet them both today and they will fit in great!  We are all looking forward to getting to know them!  Welcome Adrianna and Ke'Nya!

EXCITING NEWS- On Monday we will be getting our eggs to hatch our first round of baby chicks!  WE ARE SUPER EXCITED!!!!  They will hatch in the beginning of October. 

Wow!  We made it through our first full week of school and started our second.  The kids have been adjusting to our new schedule great!  The first week was full of rules and routines.  This week we will put our noses down and get to the grind!  Today was our first day of full curriculum.  It was tiring and a little bit rough.  The kids did amazing considering it was a Monday and we worked ALL DAY LONG!  This week will be our first spelling and reading test.  We will do A LOT of practicing before Friday.

TOMORROW (TUESDAY) IS BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!!! I hope to see you all there!
